  used this method to logically convince my friend who is also dfd of one of many reasons as to why i shall never return and he agreed.

  BUT. He did pick fault with those who over interpreted the law and embellished it. And he did show the value of life. And he did not mind going against the man made sections of the law, as evidenced by healing the man on the sabbath.

  Persecution in Russia. Poland next.

  the wife got back from the meeting last night and told me they watched some video from jw.org about persection in russia.

  lots of discussion at the hall about poland being next after ukraine.

  she told me she was not going to sign anything renouncing her faith even if she had to go to prison.

  A sister at our assembly today said those exact words, that persecution proved to her that it was the right religion. I was thinking "does that mean then, that whatever brand of Christianity is being beheaded by ISIS is the right religion too? "

  I exited my body at one point to view it as an outsider would...

  Had a vision of North Korea, our glorious leader(s) faces beaming down on us from gigantic screens barking out orders and gushing with praises .

  After I asked her if she thought he was computer generated, (Letts) my missus said that he looked like something from 'spitting image'!

  (a reference probably lost on our American and other friends here, but it made ME laugh. A bit too loudly too!)

  Hahaaa sorry miss Kate, just too many variables there to go wrong! I don't doubt YOU at all, but my missus knows ALL my friends and I don't want it to be a wasted journey for you.

  I'm not worth it anyway, I'm far more eloquent typing on a keyboard than I am in real life, and that's not saying much really!

  Oh and slidin fast,I'm sure one time he added an extra syllable in there, feminininidee!

  since the spin we get from the wt and from the platform is very one sided, always banging on about how terrible the world is and how it's never been worse and mankind is going to hades in a handcart, how's about a good news thread?

  i don't know about you guys but i try to share the good stuff as much as possible, because i feel it un-demonises 'worldly' people, helps witnesses see its not cut and dry, black and white, us and them.

  there are millions of decent hardworking charitable people out there trying to make a difference for the community at large.

  It was fine, I'm just laughing about it inside now, instead of stressing.

  I can point out small things here and there to the missus without coming over all apostate.

  I can wear my bushy beard with pride, despite the looks.

  I can strengthen my critical thinking skills during the sessions and in my note taking.

  I can support my wife in her hobby and social life despite thinking it's all bull.

  I can actually catch up with some mates during the sessions too.

  All in all, not too bad a day. It was interesting actually seeing and hearing a member of the gb give a talk. And hearing the audience fawning over every tiny joke ("ooh he's so HUMAN, he has a sense of humour and EVERYTHING ") personally I thought it was very average, not very coherent, bit of a mish mash of a talk. Even now, with what I know, I expected something outstanding, after all he's one of the EIGHT people on earth god deals with directly, right?
